{"id":4988,"date":"2023-06-23T13:07:58","date_gmt":"2023-06-23T13:07:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geomatrix.co\/?p=4988"},"modified":"2023-06-23T13:42:01","modified_gmt":"2023-06-23T13:42:01","slug":"geotextiles-para-separacion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geomatrix.co\/en\/geotextiles-para-separacion\/","title":{"rendered":"Woven Geotextiles for Separation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Woven Geotextiles for Separation<\/h1>\r\n<p>Woven geotextiles are essential due to the large amount of fine particles that the natural soil where the pavement structure will be supported may have, the design thicknesses and mechanical properties of the granular materials of the structure can be affected thanks to the migration of fines within of the granular layer and the intrusion of coarse particles into the subgrade (see Figure 1).<\/p>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Figure 1\" src=\"https:\/\/geomatrix.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Figura-1.png\" alt=\"Geotextiles para separaci\u00f3n\" width=\"610\" height=\"173\" \/><\/p>\r\n<h2>Solution using woven geotextiles:\u00a0<\/h2>\r\n<p>In order to separate the materials, it is necessary to use woven goetextiles <a href=\"https:\/\/geomatrix.co\/en\/fortex\/\"><strong>FORTEX BX<\/strong><\/a> which avoid the mixing of a subgrade soil and a granular material (granular subbase, granular base, selected material, etc.). The separation function with geotextiles is suitable for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geosyntheticssociety.org\/did-you-know-the-enduring-durability-of-geosynthetics\/\"><strong><em>pavement structures<\/em><\/strong><\/a> built on soils with a CBR equal to or greater than 3 (CBR \u2265 3%).<\/p>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"fortex\" src=\"https:\/\/geomatrix.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/fortex-1.png\" alt=\"Geotextiles para separaci\u00f3n\" width=\"585\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p>Also, it is important to make overlaps or joints in order to give continuity to the <a href=\"https:\/\/geomatrix.co\/en\/productos\/\"><strong>geotextile functions<\/strong><\/a> required in the project. For this, the following minimum overlaps are recommended depending on the support capacity of the subgrade soil.<\/p>\r\n<p><em><strong>Table 1.
