In San Mateo, Manta, Ecuador, this technology was applied to develop a house on a steep slope.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2073\" data-end=\"2413\">Manta, in the province of Manab\u00ed, is one of the country's main urban and port centers. <strong data-start=\"2172\" data-end=\"2182\">In addition<\/strong>Its strategic location in front of the Pacific Ocean and year-round warm weather favor real estate growth. <strong data-start=\"2312\" data-end=\"2328\">Therefore<\/strong>The San Mateo area has become a key point of residential expansion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2420\" data-end=\"2687\">However, the project site had slopes between 35\u00b0 and 40\u00b0. This condition made the direct construction of the house risky. <strong data-start=\"2566\" data-end=\"2585\">Accordingly<\/strong>In order to achieve this, it was necessary to propose a technical solution that would guarantee stability, safety and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2222\" data-end=\"2555\">Initially, it was proposed a <strong data-start=\"2249\" data-end=\"2283\">concrete retaining wall<\/strong> of approximately 8 meters in height to generate a stable platform. Alternative with reinforced concrete retaining wall.<\/p><\/div>\n<h4 data-start=\"2562\" data-end=\"2629\"><strong>FORTGRID UX geogrid-reinforced soil wall<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"2630\" data-end=\"2878\">In order to address the problem, the company has implemented a <strong data-start=\"2678\" data-end=\"2711\">reinforced floor structure<\/strong> with <strong data-start=\"2716\" data-end=\"2742\">geogrids <a href=\"https:\/\/geomatrix.co\/en\/fortgrid-ux\/\">FORTGRID UX<\/a><\/strong>The new project, an efficient, sustainable and fast-track solution that guarantees long-term stability for the housing infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2880\" data-end=\"3335\">The system consists of compacted soil layers, reinforced with geogrids. <a href=\"https:\/\/geomatrix.co\/en\/fortgrid-ux\/\">FORTGRID UX<\/a>The wall was reinforced with a layer of concrete, which increases the bearing capacity and resistance to horizontal stresses. On the facade of the wall, we applied a <strong data-start=\"3105\" data-end=\"3134\">wrap-around solution<\/strong>using sachets filled with soil and covered with <strong data-start=\"3191\" data-end=\"3215\">Mantle <a href=\"https:\/\/geomatrix.co\/en\/terratrac-trm\/\">TERRATRAC TRM<\/a><\/strong> for erosion control, allowing plant growth and a natural finish that integrates with the residential environment.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3337\" data-end=\"3547\">For the <strong data-start=\"3345\" data-end=\"3382\">subsurface water control<\/strong>a system of <strong data-start=\"3411\" data-end=\"3478\">horizontal and vertical underdrainage with PERMADRAIN\u00ae planar geonet<\/strong>reducing pore pressure and prolonging the life of the wall.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3337\" data-end=\"3547\">\n<div id=\"attachment_7699\" style=\"width: 483px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img alt=\"Plano t\u00e9cnico de corte transversal de estructura arquitect\u00f3nica\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7699\" class=\"wp-image-7699\" src=\"https:\/\/geomatrix.sfo2.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com\/web\/dsdas-300x165.png\" width=\"473\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/geomatrix.sfo2.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com\/web\/dsdas-300x165.png 300w, https:\/\/geomatrix.sfo2.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com\/web\/dsdas-18x10.png 18w, https:\/\/geomatrix.sfo2.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com\/web\/dsdas.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-7699\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figure 2.
