These problems require engineering solutions that are reliable, fast to implement and technically proven.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1393\">In this context, geosynthetics made from high tenacity polyester are consolidated as key allies for hydraulic protection and bank stabilization, offering adequate structural performance, high durability and constructive efficiency.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1744\">This blog presents the case developed on the left margin of the <strong data-start=\"1462\" data-end=\"1479\">Magdalena River<\/strong>in the township of <strong data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"1539\">Santa Luc\u00eda (Magangu\u00e9, Bol\u00edvar)<\/strong>where the combined use of <strong data-start=\"1567\" data-end=\"1586\">GEOCONTAINERS<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1589\" data-end=\"1632\">TEXTILE FORMALETA ARTICULATED MATTRESS-ARTICULATED MATTRESS<\/strong> The project mitigated severe scour and flooding processes, protecting vulnerable communities and their environment.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1751\" data-end=\"1803\">The challenge: erosion, flooding and social risk<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1805\" data-end=\"2018\">The town of Santa Luc\u00eda is located in a highly dynamic alluvial plain, influenced by the Magdalena River and multiple bodies of water. This geomorphological condition increases susceptibility to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2020\" data-end=\"2163\">\n<li data-start=\"2020\" data-end=\"2048\">\n<p data-start=\"2022\" data-end=\"2048\">Recurrent flooding<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2049\" data-end=\"2081\">\n<p data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2081\">Lateral channel scour<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2082\" data-end=\"2163\">\n<p data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2163\">Progressive collapse of slopes made up of low cohesion sandy silts<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2165\" data-end=\"2495\">The consequences were critical: loss of homes, damage to roads, collapse of roadsides and a high risk for more than <strong data-start=\"2293\" data-end=\"2309\">280 families<\/strong>. The shore was protected by a gravity structure made up of an arrangement of <strong data-start=\"2816\" data-end=\"2835\">geocontainers<\/strong> filled with material from the site, lined with concrete using the <strong data-start=\"2905\" data-end=\"2948\">textile formaleta Articulated Mattress Pads<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2951\" data-end=\"3058\">This solution made it possible to integrate structural flexibility, hydraulic resistance and construction efficiency.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3065\" data-end=\"3114\">Geocontainers in high tenacity polyester<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3116\" data-end=\"3300\">The <strong data-start=\"3120\" data-end=\"3139\">GEOCONTAINERS<\/strong> made of high tenacity polyester geotextile were used as the main element for the rehabilitation of the shore. <strong data-start=\"3607\" data-end=\"3651\">more than 2,000 units of GEOCONTENEDORES<\/strong>, installed by tumbling, allowing an efficient execution even under complex hydraulic
