Geogrids

Geosynthetic formed by a regular network of integrally connected elements with openings that allow interlocking with the surrounding soil, rock, earth and other materials to provide them with reinforcement. Composed of continuous elements joined by weaving techniques.

Fortgrid Asphalt

Fortgrid Asphalt are high tenacity polyester (PET) biaxial geogrids, designed to reinforce and control the reflection of cracks in asphalt concrete layers. They are impregnated with a bituminous copolymer that makes them compatible with asphalt and facilitates their adherence. The size of its openings allows a high interaction with the aggregate that makes up the mixture and direct contact between the surfaces involved. They are resistant to high temperatures, have compatibility with the thermal expansion of asphalt concrete, have high resistance to tension and cyclic loading, which increase the resistance to tension in the new asphalt layer, increase the resistance to the reflection of cracks and the fatigue life and reduce maintenance costs.

Usage

Asphalt binder reinforcement

___________     Advantages  ____________

Fortgrid Asphalt

They control the reflection of cracks in asphalt overlays.

Fortgrid Asphalt

They increase the fatigue life of asphalt layers.

Fortgrid Asphalt

They absorb the horizontal tensile stresses that occur in the lower plane of the asphalt layer.

Fortgrid Asphalt

They increase the resistance of asphalt layers to rutting.
