Fortgrid Asphalt
Fortgrid Asphalt are high tenacity polyester (PET) biaxial geogrids, designed to reinforce and control the reflection of cracks in asphalt concrete layers. They are impregnated with a bituminous copolymer that makes them compatible with asphalt and facilitates their adherence. The size of their openings allows a high interaction with the aggregate that makes up the mix and direct contact between the surfaces involved. They are resistant to high temperatures, have compatibility with the thermal expansion of asphalt concrete, have high tensile strength and cyclic loading resistance, which increase the tensile strength in the new asphalt layer, increase the resistance to reflective cracking and fatigue life, and reduce maintenance costs.
