Risk mitigation with permanent erosion control blankets

Natural soil erosion as a problem

The erosion Natural soil has always been an issue of global concern, however, human activities have greatly aggravated the situation. Erosion can be described as a natural phenomenon of removal, dragging, transfer and sedimentation of soil particles.

The exposure of soils on high slopes, with the presence of weathered rocks, brings with it the phenomenon of erosion and falling debris, caused by runoff, wind, the force of gravity or the flow of water currents, leading to the degradation of ecosystems, an increased risk of landslides and flooding, considerable losses of biodiversity, damage to infrastructure and in catastrophic situations, the displacement of local inhabitants.

Erosion control blankets that integrate with the environment

To mitigate these problems, GEOMATRIX offers long-term permanent erosion control blankets, of natural green color, that integrate very well with the environment, controlling the action of erosion agents due to their high resistance against the hydrodynamic forces present in slopes and channels. For the case in question, the use of a cloak was implemented Terratrac TRM 50, because the slope was quite steep and with a considerable height between 10 to 15 meters.

The TERRATRAC TRM 50 blankets have sufficient thickness, resistance and voids to retain the soil and allow the development of vegetation through its matrix, reinforcing and anchoring the roots and stems.
