REINFORCEMENT OF ASPHALT LAYERS WITH GEOGRIDS

Widening of a road with geogrids:

When there is a widening joint in a roadway, the asphalt mixture layer is susceptible to cracking due to differences in stiffness or compressibility of the subgrade.

Installation of a geogrid FORTGRID ASPHALT between the old asphalt layer and the new asphalt layer or between the asphalt base and the new asphalt layer in the joint area, generates a biaxial projection of the stresses that enlarges the thin resistant prism, turning it into an inverted pyramid-shaped one with a larger volume, which means a greater mechanical offer to tolerate the stresses that occur.
